The Bellows Burn Tread

Beginning at Hart Village, this walk is mostly through farmland and also includes a steep sided river valley/dene and woodland.

Ramble in the Dene

his route begins will take you through farmland and woodland, along country roads, and through a steep sided dene. The route starts at Hart Village and passes through Hart to Haswell Local Nature Reserve – home to an array of wildlife. 

There are moderate/steep ascents and descents, as well as stiles to cross, so this route would be best taken on foot.

Headland Sea Watch

This route begins at Hart Warren Dunes, where you can explore the wonderful variety of flora and fauna. It continues along the Headland, offering stunning coastal views and passing through a number of popular attractions including Spion Kop Cemetry and Heugh Gun Battery Museum.

Three Villages Ramble

Discover Hartlepool’s natural beauty as you venture through the countryside landscapes of Summerhill, Dalton Piercy, Elwick and Hart.

The route will mostly take you through farmland and there are moderate ascents and descents, as well as stiles to cross.

Park to Park

Embark on a family adventure and explore Hartlepool’s popular parks and gardens. The walk begins at Ward Jackson Park, passing through Burn Valley Gardens and concluding at Summer Hill Country Park.

Explore the quaint village of Dalton Piercy and its rural outskirts. The walk runs predominantly on paths through farmland, with stiles to cross, and moderate ascents and descents.

Greatham Get Away

This walking route begins at Greatham Village and passes through Cowpen Bewley Country Park – well worth a visit for its variety of wildlife including 80 species of birds and 18 species of butterfly! The walk is mostly throuh farmland, but only has one stile to cross!

Seaton Snooks Stroll

Discover and explore the spectacular grasslands, magnificent coastal dunes and rich history of Seaton Carew’s coastline. The route is mainly along tarmac and there is an alternative route to crossing Seaton Common between points 7 and 8 (which is detailed in the route directions) in wet weather, as this area can get boggy.
