The 15th April 2025 marks the 8th anniversary of the liberation of the Bergen-Belsen. The talk will focus on the work of the 7th Battalion Durham Light Infantry’s role in the relief of the camp taken from moving eye witness accounts of the scenes they saw upon entering the camp and during their work there.

Eminent local historian Dr John Sadler (Newcastle University) will guide us through the account of Captain Andrew Pares who left us a profoundly moving document of the relief effort that ensued.

Parental Guidance – Due to the nature of the talk, the talk is not suitable for young people under the age of 12 or a sensitive disposition.
