This impressive 2,000ft pier was originally built to provide freshwater to the former Steetley Magnesite plant in the 1960s. The plant produced an estimated 250,000 tonnes of high quality grade Magnesia each year but has since ceased production.

The industrial landmark has since become a big hit with local photographers – and I’m sure you can see why!
